Wilderness Therapy that Helps Young Adults from Oregon Thrive

Many Oregon young adults seek therapeutic treatment because they have found themselves in survival mode. Whether the issues stem from poor choices or underlying mental health concerns, it can create an unhealthy cycle that can be hard to end.

Wilderness therapy for Oregon young adults helps break this cycle. By removing the ability to isolate, manipulate, or use other negative coping mechanisms, young adults are able to clearly look at their patterns, choices, and areas of growth. This improves self-awareness which opens the door to new and healthy coping skills, relationships, and more. With wilderness therapy, the goal is to help young people not just survive, but thrive.

BlueFire Pulsar’s wilderness therapy program helps young people thrive again. Based in Idaho, BlueFire Pulsar supports young adults from Oregon as they heal, grow, and gain the skills they need to succeed in the future.

Wilderness Therapy Unlocks Potential For Oregon Young Adults

Our Adventure Therapy program supports young people from Oregon as they take their first steps out of their comfort zones and into their futures. These activities provide appropriately challenging experiences that improve communication skills, build self-confidence, and increase resilience. Activities are intentionally selected and designed by the clinical team to be impactful and growth-oriented. Our clinical and field team are highly involved in the activities themselves, which allow students to further connect with staff and have access to in-the-moment support.

Because of these experiences, young men and women are achieving success in areas they never thought possible. They truly were able to overcome the struggle, climb the mountain, and navigate the rapids. These change the way they see themselves, shifting from sitting on the sidelines to being an active participant in their own lives.

Wilderness Therapy for Young Adults from Oregon

BlueFire Pulsar provides transformative wilderness therapy for young adults ages 18-28. BlueFire Pulsar is located in southern Idaho and helps young men and women from around the country, including Oregon, that are having a difficult time moving forward in their lives. This can include difficulties with relationships, school or work, or general wellbeing. Young people can use this as a chance to reconnect with their true selves while also finding their passion and drive.

How does Adventure Therapy work?

By engaging young adults with new and fun activities, they are able to do something enjoyable while also developing life, coping, and communication skills. It can also be used as a reflective experience where students gain awareness around stress patterns and effective versus ineffective skills.

Connection to Our Community

At BlueFire Pulsar, we believe that supporting something outside of yourself goes hand-in-hand with supporting your inner work. For this reason, we have service work included as a part of our wilderness therapy program. This supports local community organizations, environmental programs, and service agencies. From cleaning up a local park to mending a hiking trail, these activities can offer opportunities for students to improve self-esteem and overall well being. After BlueFire Pulsar, students can even include their volunteer work on their resume.
