Young Adults from North Carolina find Healing from Wilderness Therapy
With all the societal pressures on young people today, it is no surprise that many young adults struggle with successfully transitioning from adolescence to adulthood. Wilderness therapy for North Carolina young men and women presents a transformative opportunity for change and growth in a short amount of time.
Some young adults are struggling with life at college while others are having trouble with work and relationships. Whatever young adults are struggling with, wilderness therapy provides a therapeutic program to uncover these negative thought and behavior patterns. By helping students identify their core beliefs, we can start to remove unhealthy thought patterns and replace them with positive beliefs that support the changes they are making.
Finding Real, Lasting Change at Wilderness Therapy For North Carolina Young Adults
BlueFire Pulsar is a wilderness therapy program for young adults ages 18-28. Our program is designed to work with the unique needs of this age group, like communication skills, transition planning, adventure therapy, and more. The goal is healthy relationships (with self and others) and gaining independence. Located in southern Idaho, BlueFire Pulsar helps North Carolina young adults find their true selves.
How can a short-term program inspire enduring change? Wilderness therapy offers a transformative experience that helps young adults see themselves - and their choices - more clearly. Nature doesn’t react to manipulation and other behavioral patterns the same way people do - these actions have consequences. It is transformative for young adults to see the impacts of their decisions in real-time. Of course, this is all done with the help of highly trained therapists, experienced field guides, and a supportive peer group.
Empowering Young Adults from North Carolina through Adventure Therapy
Nestled among the scenic high plains in southern Idaho, BlueFire Pulsar works with North Carolina young adults they need to focus some time on themselves to grow and heal. Our Adventure Therapy Program has activities that are designed to be appropriately difficult. Young adults will find ease with certain activities and challenge with others, and this is very intentional. By getting students out of their comfort zone, we are shifting them towards growth and change.
Daily Activities for Long-term Change
All of the daily activities that we do are geared toward fostering independence and self-sufficiency. Some of these activities include: waking at sun-up, daily meditation and goal, individual and group goal setting, meal prep, and group therapy. We want to make sure that young adults have the strengths and capabilities to guide themselves in life.
Comprehensive Clinical Programming
Providing a current, in the moment feedback loop is incredibly powerful for young adults. This helps them recognize and understand both areas of strength and growth. We provide the most clinical hours of any wilderness therapy program with:
- Family programming specific to each client’s needs.
- Weekly equine therapy.
- Four days each week of clinical support from therapeutic professionals.
- Two days each week of individual therapy.
- Four days of group therapy.
- Weekly adventure therapy.
Our goal at BlueFire Pulsar is to help each student successfully transition into adulthood.
