Young Adults from Montana find Healing from Wilderness Therapy
With all the societal pressures on young people today, it is no surprise that many young adults struggle with successfully transitioning from adolescence to adulthood. Wilderness therapy designed for Montana young adults offers a powerful opportunity to realize who they are, where they want to go, and what they need to do to get there.
Some of the young people that come to us are struggling with academic pressure, others are having difficulty finding the motivation they need to pursue their dreams. No matter what our young adults are having difficulty with, wilderness therapy is a powerful therapeutic intervention that helps interrupt negative thinking and behavior patterns. By helping students identify their core beliefs, we can start to remove unhealthy thought patterns and replace them with positive beliefs that support the changes they are making.
Finding Real, Lasting Change at Wilderness Therapy For Montana Young Adults
BlueFire Pulsar is a wilderness therapy program for young adults ages 18-28. Our program is designed to work with the unique needs of this age group, like communication skills, transition planning, adventure therapy, and more. The overarching goal of the program is to achieve healthy relationships and developing independence. Based in Idaho, BlueFire Pulsar supports Montana young adults as they rediscover their true selves.
How can a short-term program inspire enduring change? With wilderness therapy, young adults participate in a life-changing opportunity that helps them see themselves for who they really are. Because nature does not react to manipulation techniques, the behavior patterns that young adults arrive with have real consequences. It is transformative for young adults to see the impacts of their decisions in real-time. Of course, this is all done with the help of highly trained therapists, experienced field guides, and a supportive peer group.
Empowering Young Adults from Montana through Adventure Therapy
Located in the beautiful high plains desert in south central Idaho, BlueFire Pulsar helps young adults from Montana and across the country recognize and build their sense of self-worth. With our Adventure Therapy Program, we utilize scalable activities that are designed to be appropriately challenging. There are a variety of activities and the young adult students will achieve some with ease while others will be more difficult - and this is intentional. By encouraging students to get out of their comfort zones, we can foster growth and change they never thought possible.
Daily Activities for Long-term Change
All of the day-to-day activities in our program are designed to foster self-sufficiency and independence. Examples include waking with the sunrise, daily meditative and yoga practices, group therapy, and meal preparation. We want our students to feel empowered to move forward, knowing they have the skills and capabilities to thrive.
Comprehensive Clinical Programming
Providing a current, in the moment feedback loop is incredibly powerful for young adults. They are able to recognize their strengths and areas of growth and understand negative patterns. Our program offers the most hours of therapy compared to any other wilderness program with:
- Two days of individual therapy each week.
- Four days of therapy per week with therapeutic professionals.
- Weekly equine therapy.
- Family programming specific to each client’s needs.
- Four days of group therapy.
- Weekly adventure therapy.
