Young Adults from Missouri find Healing from Wilderness Therapy

With all the societal pressures on young people today, it is no surprise that many young adults struggle with successfully transitioning from adolescence to adulthood. Wilderness therapy for Missouri young men and women presents a transformative opportunity for change and growth in a short amount of time.

Some of the young people that come to us are struggling with academic pressure, others are having difficulty finding the motivation they need to pursue their dreams. Regardless of what young adults are struggling with, wilderness therapy is a therapeutic program designed to help them move past these negative patterns. By understanding their core beliefs, students can work on getting rid of beliefs that are not serving them while also replacing them with healthy, positive core beliefs.

Finding Real, Lasting Change at Wilderness Therapy For Missouri Young Adults

BlueFire Pulsar is a wilderness therapy program for young adults ages 18-28. With a program specifically designed to meet the evolving needs of this population, our curriculum including adventure therapy, transition planning, and important transferable skills. The goal is healthy relationships (with self and others) and gaining independence. Based in Idaho, BlueFire Pulsar supports Missouri young adults as they rediscover their true selves.

How can a short-term program inspire enduring change? Wilderness therapy provides a life-changing catalyst that allows young adults to truly see themselves, day in and day out. Nature doesn’t react to manipulation and other behavioral patterns the same way people do - these actions have consequences. It is powerful for young adults to see the effects and results of their choices - both positive and negative - in real-time. BlueFire Pulsar does this with the help of skilled clinicians, experienced guides, and the encouraging peer group.

Empowering Young Adults from Missouri through Adventure Therapy

Nestled among the scenic high plains in southern Idaho, BlueFire Pulsar works with Missouri young adults they need to focus some time on themselves to grow and heal. Our adventure therapy program is designed to include activities that we can scale to the appropriate level of difficulty. Young adults will find ease with certain activities and challenge with others, and this is very intentional. By getting students out of their comfort zone, we are shifting them towards growth and change.

Daily Activities for Long-term Change

All of the day-to-day activities in our program are designed to foster self-sufficiency and independence. This includes waking up with the sunrise, daily yoga and meditation, goal setting, meal preparation, and group. This helps us ensure that our students are developing the skills they need to guide themselves, both now and in the future.

Comprehensive Clinical Programming

Providing a current, in the moment feedback loop is incredibly powerful for young adults. This helps them recognize and understand both areas of strength and growth. BlueFire Pulsar provides the most clinical hours of any other wilderness therapy program, which includes:

- Four days each week of clinical support from therapeutic professionals.

- Four days of group therapy.

- Weekly adventure therapy.

- Family programming specific to each client’s needs.
