Young Adults from Maryland find Healing from Wilderness Therapy
With high expectations during the crucial transitional period of young adulthood, it is no wonder that so many young men and women struggle during this time. Wilderness therapy designed for Maryland young adults offers a powerful opportunity to realize who they are, where they want to go, and what they need to do to get there.
Some young adults are struggling with life at college while others are having trouble with work and relationships. Regardless of what young adults are struggling with, wilderness therapy is a therapeutic program designed to help them move past these negative patterns. By understanding their core beliefs, students can work on getting rid of beliefs that are not serving them while also replacing them with healthy, positive core beliefs.
Finding Real, Lasting Change at Wilderness Therapy For Maryland Young Adults
BlueFire Pulsar is a wilderness therapy program for young adults ages 18-28. The program is specifically designed for working with the distinct needs of this age group, including transferable skills, adventure therapy, and transition planning. The overarching goal of the program is to achieve healthy relationships and developing independence. Based in Idaho, BlueFire Pulsar supports Maryland young adults as they rediscover their true selves.
How can a short-term program inspire enduring change? Wilderness therapy provides a life-changing catalyst that allows young adults to truly see themselves, day in and day out. Nature does not respond to attempts to manipulate, and avoidance and distraction patterns have real consequences. It is powerful for young adults to see the effects and results of their choices - both positive and negative - in real-time. At BlueFire Pulsar, this happens with the support of experienced therapists, dedicated field guides, and an empowering peer group.
Empowering Young Adults from Maryland through Adventure Therapy
Nestled among the scenic high plains in southern Idaho, BlueFire Pulsar works with Maryland young adults they need to focus some time on themselves to grow and heal. With our Adventure Therapy Program, we utilize scalable activities that are designed to be appropriately challenging. Students will find certain activities easily achievable while others will me for challenging, which is very intentional. By encouraging students to get out of their comfort zones, we can foster growth and change they never thought possible.
Daily Activities for Long-term Change
Each of the activities that we incorporate into our day-to-day schedule is intentionally there to encourage independence and improving self-sufficiency. Some of these activities include: waking at sun-up, daily meditation and goal, individual and group goal setting, meal prep, and group therapy. This helps us ensure that our students are developing the skills they need to guide themselves, both now and in the future.
Comprehensive Clinical Programming
Our setting allows for in-the-moment feedback that is a powerful tool for our young adult students. This helps them recognize and understand both areas of strength and growth. Our program offers the most hours of therapy compared to any other wilderness program with:
- Weekly adventure therapy.
- Weekly equine therapy.
- Two days of individual therapy each week.
- Family programming specific to each client’s needs.
- Four days each week of clinical support from therapeutic professionals.
- Four days of group therapy.
