How Do Technology Addictions Work?

Technology addictions can overtake a person’s life. Video games and social media give the brain quick doses of serotonin, making us feel good briefly. Over time, the pleasure center of the brain has to be re-trained to find serotonin in other activities. Mindfulness exercises, adventure therapy, and other outdoor activities can activate this “feel good” part in our brain. Activities that help us both mentally and physically provide our brains with serotonin and promote overall health.
