At blueFire Pulsar, we help young adults ages 18-28 who are struggling to launch into adulthood. We offer a robust therapeutic program that includes more therapy time than most other young adult programs.
We use several different types of therapy to help our clients gain the tools they need to succeed outside of treatment. Our clinical emphasis includes:
- Group Therapy – Minimum 4 times per week
- Individual Therapy – Twice a week
- Family sessions via Family Flow Program
- Trauma Work
During individual therapy sessions, our clinicians use cutting edge techniques. Depending on individual needs, clients will participate in Brainspotting, Eye Movement Desensitization and Processing (EMDR), Equine Therapy, Adventure Therapy, and Hypnotherapy. These techniques help clients address underlying issues that are contributing to the bigger challenges in their lives.
Mindfulness is another critical piece of our programming. Clients practice yoga daily and also participate in dance and movement therapy. These mind/body experiences help clients recenter themselves and learn healthy coping mechanisms to utilize throughout their lives.
Family work is paramount to a client’s success. We believe that lasting change requires the entire family unit to understand their role in a client’s journey. Our Family Flow program includes routine family sessions that are individualized depending on the client’s unique needs. The therapeutic family work done helps parents learn how to best support their young adult and provides a safe space for the client to work through challenges within their family unit. As part of Family Flow, parents are invited to join their young adult during their final days of the program. Parents will spend the night camping with their young adult after completing a final family session to acknowledge the progress that has been made and identify additional goals for the future.

- Clinical Emphasis
blueFire Pulsar has two licensed therapists in the field with clients. The amount of clinical support and emphasis is much higher than at typical young adult programs. Clients participate in multiple individual, group, and family therapy sessions per week. We believe that a heavy clinical focus provides long-term results for clients working through behavioral issues stemming from unprocessed trauma or loss.
- Family Systems Approach
Unlike other young adult wilderness programs, blueFire Pulsar ensures that family work is a top priority. Our relationship-based approach explores the challenges young adults face within their families and provides a supportive environment for the entire family to work through issues.
- Planning for the Future
Launching into adulthood can be intimidating. Many young adults don’t know where to start when they are looking to plan their next steps. We provide career testing and transition planning that helps clients better understand their strengths and interests. Clients will take the GS 120 test to help determine careers or other opportunities that may be a good fit for them. Helping clients develop a plan for the future helps give them the confidence and motivation to continue this momentum going forward.
Clients will gain a sense of direction and purpose during their time at blueFire Pulsar. Whether it’s figuring out how to remove obstacles in their lives or just getting unstuck from their current situation, our team helps young adults move beyond the challenges they have faced. At blueFire Pulsar, you could gain:
- Healthy coping skills
- Improved social skills
- Better relationships
- More confidence and self-esteem
